Many residents of Tuscany-Canterbury love to walk or run in the neighborhood. Of particular interest to many is the trail along the Stony Run Walking Path. Currently the path runs from the area near the Steiff Silver Factory, north through Wyman Park, across Cold Spring Lane and into Roland Park. The path along the stream from Overhill to the West University Parkway Bridge runs through a small park but it ends at the bridge. So, those who wish to continue walking south must go up Linkwood Road, cross West University Parkway and return to the path in Wyman Park via the Tudor Arms Avenue. One day, we hope there will be a bridge across the stream from Linkwood Road so that walkers will not have to make the detour. This is a project being developed by the Friends of Stony Run (www.stonyrun.org). An article about plans for the Stony Run can be found in the Fall 2011 issue of the TCNA newsletter.
Another popular destination in the spring and summer months is Sherwood Gardens, in Guilford. The spring bulbs and shrubs are glorious and each summer, they are replaced by beds of annuals. This beautiful garden is bounded by Greenway, Northway and Stratford Roads.
Tuscany-Canterbury has a Garden Committee. Residents are encouraged to work with neighbors to take care of 2 small beds on Tuscany Road and one large bed nearby 39th Street and Canterbury Road. Contact the Chair of the Garden Committee if you are interested in helping out!
